Lithographs
I find the technical difficulties of lithography rather stifles the creative flow, however I have had the opportunity to work at the Curwen Press and to use their equiptment and expertise to create these lithographic monoprints. Each one is different and created on the lithographic press by overlaying layers of transparent colour, manipulating and working into each print.

Collagraphs
My collagraph prints involve a long process of building up a complicated plate using card, glue and collage materials combined with scores, marks and linear work. The making of the plate is a soothing and exciting process. The plate is then printed using the intaglio method. Although up to a maximum of eight prints can be printed from this plate, no two are ever the same as they are further worked by hand. I never want to see more than one example of any piece of work I make.

Monoprints
These are made by layering and manipulating colour, creating tones and textures impossible to achieve with a paintbrush. Sometimes I experiment with stencils and textures to create surprise combinations of colour and form. Often chine collé and collage complete the works.

Linocuts
Working in lino or woodcut I always use the reductive method discovered by Picasso. This uses a single block of lino which is cut and printed on to paper, then cleaned and cut into again resulting in vibrant overlays of colour. The prints are all unique.
