LA FÊTE DU FOUR

This has nothing at all to do with art but it is such a wonderful annual celebration it is well worth mentioning.

Every year on one Sunday in July, the village Medieval bread oven is opened up and lit. Firstly celebratory loaves of bread are lovingly baked to share amongst the whole village, then everybody is invited to bring a dish to be cooked in the oven. The wine flows and everybody sits on the steps and shares in a big feast of the baked goodies from the oven, plus salads & desserts that we all produce.

The atmosphere is wonderful and the event seems timeless.

After the searing pain caused by the terrible events in Nice (very close to here) on July 14th, it is positive and humbling to take part in a beautiful and timeless ceremony such as this. Thank you Marie.
