"SCULPTURES MONUMENTALES" BY NICOLAS LAVARENNE

We have been very impressed by the massive figurative sculptures towering above the ramparts above the sea and suspended between two streets in Antibes.. There are 19 of these figures in Antibes, both men and women. They are all perched on stilts which add an extra dimension and power. The works are made in bronze using the technique of "lost wax". This is a temporary exhibition which runs from June 19th to September 18th this year.

On a drive to visit the beautiful Arboretum in the mountains at Roure we came across another of his sculptures. This one sits perched above the mountains gazing over an amazing landscape. The Roure sculpture is the last of these images.
